Day 57 of 100 intentional reflective steps.
One of my favorite authors, Anne Lamott, says all writers need to discipline themselves to just sit down and write. I have consistently done that over the past 56 days. To my surprise, and nobody else’s, I have yet to run out of words. In fact I have written 75,000 words in 56 days. This averages out to 1,400 words per day.
In writing, as in every other art form, there is a question hanging out there and not the ones we often think of first. The question is not “is it good” or “how many people like it” or even “am I making an impact”. The question is way more personal. It is “Does this art/craft/habit give me life? joy? fulfillment?
Yes. A resounding yes. If others like what I’ve written that is the proverbial icing on the cake.
